Gun Violence is Not Cool

New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence is working on three bills for the 2019 legislative session.  Please call and email all committee members. Our elected officials need to know that the time is NOW to pass gun violence prevention bills.
  • HB87 would prohibit domestic violence offenders under protective orders from possessing firearms .
  • HB130 is a child access prevention bill. This is a youth driven bill by teenagers in our group. It would hold gun owners liable if their firearm gets in the hands of a minor and that minor hurts him or herself or someone else.
  • HB129 This bill would tighten our criminal code so that only security guards can carry firearms at school and not teachers.
Here are the contact numbers for the committee:
Representative Liz Thompson (D):
Representative Andrea Romero (D)
Representative Candy Spence Ezzell (R)
Representative Angelica Rubio (D)
Representative Gregg Schmedes (R)
