A Cool Event
Every One is the result of a social collaboration conceived and created by the artist, Cannupa Hanska Luger, who invited communities from across the U.S. and Canada to create two-inch-diameter clay beads. Each of the resulting 4,000 handmade clay beads represents an indigenous individual who has been the victim of gender violence. Strung together, they form a portrait based on a photograph by First Nations photographer Kali Spitzer. Sat., Aug 11, exhibited at the Museum of International Folk Art, 706 Camino Lejo. An artist talk with Luger is Thurs., Aug. 16 at 2 pm, also at the Museum. It will remain on display through September 21, 2018.

River of Lights in Albuquerque is New Mexico’s largest all-original holiday light show with over 500 sculptures and millions of twinkling lights! The show runs nightly from Nov. 25 thru Dec. 30 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., EXCEPT for Dec. 24 – 25.
